Il 4 febbraio 2016 RAWA celebra il ventinovesimo anniversario del martirio di Meena.Iil Cisda ha inviato loro un messaggio per ricordare questa donna straordinaria

Care compagne, amiche, sorelle,

vi trovate qui oggi per ricordare insieme a noi il martirio di Meena… Una donna straordinaria che ha ispirato milioni di persone nel mondo, di cui ci ricordiamo ad ogni passo, che riempie i nostri cuori e le nostre menti di amore e rispetto.

L’unico posto dove avremmo voluto essere oggi è proprio questo, a ricordare Meena con voi. Grazie a lei, grazie a voi care sorelle, Meena è uscita dai confini della vostra nazione per diventare un’icona universale.
Lei per prima ci ha fatto capire che il lavoro umanitario deve essere inserito in un progetto di cambiamento politico della società, altrimenti non serve a nulla. Lei per prima ci ha fatto capire che ognuna di noi – piccola o grande che sia – diventa il motore inarrestabile di questo cambiamento.

Abbiamo fondato il CISDA, questa piccola ma forte associazione italiana, principalmente per sostenere RAWA e per ricordare il sacrificio di Meena; abbiamo seguito le vostre orme e dopo 15 anni di attività possiamo dirci orgogliose di questa strada.

L’amore che proviamo per voi è PER SEMPRE e diventa più forte ogni giorno che passa.

Care compagne, nel nome di Meena, continuate a illuminare questa strada, continuate a combattere con noi, costruiamo insieme il mondo in cui vogliamo vivere!

You are gathering today to commemorate the martyrdom of Meena, an extraordinary woman whose struggle and courage inspired millions of people around the world. Every step we take, we are guided by her exemplary bravery. Her memory never ceases to fill our hearts and minds with love and respect.

On this day of remembrance, we strongly wanted to be there with you all, to remember Meena all together, united. Dear sisters, thanks to your commitment and struggle, Meena has crossed the borders of your nation and become a universal example of struggle.

We first learned from Meena that any humanitarian effort must be accompanied by a broader project of political transformation of the society. Without this project, any humanitarian effort would be vain.

Meena taught us that each one of us – regardless of our age – can be the unstoppable engine of this change.

We established CISDA, this small yet strong Italian organisation, primarily to support RAWA and honour the sacrifice of Meena. We have devoutly followed your work and activities for 15 years, and today we are proud of the choice we made.

The love we feel for you is eternal and grows stronger every day.

Dear comrades, in memory of Meena, do not surrender but carry on your struggle, we are by your side. Let’s build together a better world, a world we want to feel proud of.
